Welcome to Lake Anna
No longer “Virginia’s Best Kept Secret,” Lake Anna has become one of the most sought after lakes on the east coast for recreation and full time living. While the surrounding area maintains a mostly rural atmosphere, the best of modern conveniences are nearby.
A short drive will take you to Fredericksburg, now known as an “outer suburb” of the metropolitan area of our Nation’s Capital. If you want, you can take one of the Virginia Railway Express trains to and from Washington.
Heading south from the lake, in less than an hour you’ll find the state’s capital city of Richmond, and Charlottesville, home of the University of Virginia. Shopping areas in and around both cities offer you major shopping malls of your choice and restaurants galore. But, if the “‘bright city lights” aren’t your goal, local area towns provide more than just the basic shopping needs.
With all the water sports available to you at Lake Anna, you’ll find a wonderful mix of fishing, sailing, power boating, wake boarding, and jet skiing, all sharing the more than 13,000 acres of water that Lake Anna has to offer. Or, you might want to visit some of the many historic battlefield parks nearby and the award winning Lake Anna winery.
Nearby Lake Anna State Park offers even more recreation options with its rental cabins, camping, more than 13 miles of hiking trails, lakeshore picnicking areas, guarded swimming beach, children’s play area, boat ramps, a food concession stand, a bathhouse and a children’s and handicapped fishing pond. On summer weekends, interpretive programs on the nature and history of the area, including lessons in panning for gold in the park’s streams, complement exhibits and displays in the visitor center.
Since it’s beginning in 1972, the lake has become a full time residence or vacation home for the many people who populate lake and surrounding areas, all who share a love of the lake and what it has to offer.
So it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that our company is made up of full time residents, some of whom were in the area before the lake was created. We’re all ready to help you find your place at Lake Anna so that you too can call it home.
